I began my career in finance over a decade ago with one of the big banks. It didn’t take long for me to realized that it wasn’t a good fit. They operate in a very transaction-oriented world and I just couldn’t see how that helped clients. I left in pursuit of something different, something meaningful and something that would allow me to truly help others. 

In the decade since, I have had the opportunity build strong relationships with my clients allowing me to understand what is truly important to each individual. The better I get to know someone and what they are trying to accomplish, the better the recommendations I am able to make and the better the decisions they can make to reach their financial goals. 

Think of it this way. There’s a children’s story where the little child is in bed with the lights off. As they look around the room, they become frightened by the monsters lurking in the darkness. What’s that over by the closet? Is that something coming out from under the bed? Then a parent comes in and turns on the light. Suddenly, everything is clear, and the little child realizes the monster by the closet was really just the chair they’d moved over to reach something on the top shelf. The monster turns out to be the jeans they took off while changing into their pajamas.
